Mandapeta, Andhra Pradesh: Preventing children from dropping out of school and encouraging continuous education remain central to the mission of Smiley Children Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children across Andhra Pradesh. Since its establishment on January 19, 2019, the organization has been working closely with schools, parents, and local communities to ensure that every child receives the opportunity to learn and grow.

Founded by Prudhvi Moses, Smiley Children Society operates through its headquarters in Mandapeta and branch offices in Angara (East Godavari District) and Pothavaram (West Godavari District). The organization’s initiatives are driven by a network of committed volunteers who believe that education is the foundation of long-term social and economic development.

One of the society’s primary objectives is to identify children who are either out of school or at risk of discontinuing their education due to financial or social challenges. Volunteers visit villages, interact with families, counsel parents on the importance of education, and help complete the admission process for government schools.

These efforts have been appreciated by Headmaster Swamy Narayan, who praised Smiley Children Society for making the enrollment process more accessible and for motivating families to prioritize their children’s education.

“Every child who continues education is a step toward a stronger society. Our volunteers work directly with communities to remove barriers that prevent children from attending school. We believe that no child should leave school simply because they lack guidance or support,” said Founder Prudhvi Moses.

To help students remain engaged in their studies, the organization also conducts free evening tuition classes in Angara. The program provides academic mentoring, homework assistance, and examination preparation for children who require additional educational support outside regular school hours.

Recognizing that nutrition plays an important role in a child’s ability to learn, Smiley Children Society complements the tuition program by serving free dinner to participating students. This initiative helps children concentrate on their studies while easing some of the financial burden on their families.

Beyond academic support, the organization continues to advocate for more innovative teaching methods in Anganwadi centres and primary schools. During educational programs, Prudhvi Moses has emphasized that creative learning activities, storytelling, educational games, and visual teaching aids can make classrooms more engaging and improve children’s interest in education from an early age.

Smiley Children Society also contributes to schools by donating educational materials and classroom equipment, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening learning environments across rural communities.
